Today's Cartoon: Report on Global Warming Predicts Ecomomic Disaster

There's nothing more frightening than being told scary stories around Halloween, especially when they are tales about global warming and the storytellers are throwing around the words like "doomsday" and "apocalypse".

While the United States has been centered out as the main offender when it comes to polluting our planet, trying to convince them to mend their ways by warning of the economic consequences of climate change is most likely not going to work, basically because climate change has long been accepted as a consequence of their economy.

Regardless of the "apocalyptic" predictions for the planet, it would appear that countries (especially in the "developing" world) will not be willing to adjust their own emission of greenhouse gases, if the United States is not forced to at least adhere to a similar standard. It's estimated that the U.S. accounts for almost a quarter of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, but with China and India quickly catching up both in terms of its economy and its pollution, it seems doubtful that the United States would be willing to commit itself to any sort of environmental reform, if it means it risks losing its "competitive edge".

Besides, why would the U.S. need to worry itself about global warming anyway, when its already got homosexuals to blame for ALL its natural disasters ;)
