Today's Cartoon: President Bush Abandons "Stay the Course" Rhetoric

Well, it looks like my President Bush drinking game is officially ruined.

Personally, I think it's going to be awfully difficult for President Bush to give up using the phrase "stay the course", if for no other reason than it was just about the only thing that prevented his inner frat boy from getting out and telling the press to "f*ck off" instead ;)

While I knew the situation in Iraq was grim, I had no idea that things had gotten so bad that even President Bush was forced to acknowledge this, by retiring one of his most famous war slogans (at least until after the mid-term elections). Perhaps this was because he recognized that the realities on the ground in Iraq no longer reflected the goals envisioned by his administration and felt that it was time to reassess his strategy, or... the persistent use of the term had become so annoying to everyone at the White House that it was like hanging out with the last guy on Earth who thought the catchphrase "Where's the beef" was still funny... Which rumor has it, was also President Bush ;)
